Police searching for missing Lake Clear woman
The search is on for a woman who went missing over the weekend in Franklin County.
Ray Brook-based state police say 37-year-old Carrie L. Bailey of Lake Clear was last seen Saturday, Aug. 21 shortly after midnight at a friend’s camp in the town of Brighton, near Rainbow Lake.
Bailey is a white female, approximately 5’9’’ tall and weighing about 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue “Capri” style jeans, a white tank top, a brown long-sleeve sweatshirt and sandals.
Troopers say she’s believed to be driving a silver 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible, with a license plate reading ERU 5171.
State police and state Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers are currently undertaking a ground and aerial search of the Rainbow Lake area.
Different groups have been assigned to specific areas to search for any signs of Bailey. The search began Monday when she was first reported missing.
State Police Captain Robert LaFountain told the Plattsburgh Press Republican that Bailey’s family is – quote – “concerned by her sudden and unexplained disappearance.”
Anyone with information regarding Bailey’s whereabouts is strongly urged to contact state police at 897-2000.
