Matt Doheny isn’t the only candidate picking up endorsements in the race to unseat North Country Congressman Bill Owens.
This week and last week, public accountant Doug Hoffman picked up a pair of endorsements from two conservative political action committees – FreedomWorks and Right to Life.
In a prepared statement, Hoffman said he was proud to receive support from the FreedomWorks PAC, a group that supports fiscally conservative candidates.
“On the campaign trail and in the halls of Congress I will be a vocal advocate for cutting spending, shrinking the deficit, and removing the twin shackles of red tape and regulation that currently hold back our economy,” he said.
The Albany-based New York State Right to Life PAC said electing Hoffman to the House of Representatives is a positive step toward cultivating a – quote – “culture of life in an increasingly hostile environment.”
Barbara Meara is the group’s chair.
“Doug Hoffman is the only candidate in the race who is committed to speaking out on behalf of the innocent and vulnerable members of the human family,” she said in a prepared statement.
